This cute Portugese dog has recently been named as the world's oldest dog by the Guinness World Record.

Bobi is a purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo - and he has lived twice as long as the average life expectancy of his breed.

Bobi lived his whole life with the Costa family in Conqueiros.

He was rescued when he was younger from being put down, and throughout the years, he has been a faithful companion, and comfort for the Costa family.

Despite having worsening eyesight and trouble walking, Bobi has a relatively healthy life. What an amazing doggy!

What's Bobi's Secret?

There are some lessons we can take away from Bobi's longevity.

1. Nutrition - Bobi's diet consist of simple unseasoned human food. His owner, Costa, would always soak Bobi's food in water to remove the seasoning.

Keep your dog's nutrition simple - avoid highly processed dog food as they contain loads of toxins, chemicals and preservatives.

2. Exercise - Bobi can be seen playing in the yard with the family cat, and going on walks with his owners. Keeping a healthy weight is critical to longevity.

Don't skip the walks for your dog. And don't overfeed them! As dogs don't get to make their own decisions, you have to take care of them. Give them room to play and to have daily stimulation.

3. Genetics - Life expectancy and predisposition for diseases vary by breed. While we can't control this, we can actively take steps towards maximising our dogs chance of living long and healthy lives.

Some ways to do this would be to help your dogs on the cellular level. Whether it's organic supplements, or life-boosting ingredients, and a lot of LOVE! 💗
